Lorem ipsum is the standard dummy text of the design world precisely because it reads like language without meaning: viewers judge layout, spacing and typography instead of getting distracted by real words. It has been the industry's placeholder since a printer scrambled Cicero's text in the 1500s.

The generator outputs realistic-length paragraphs (6–13 word sentences) rather than repeating the same ten words, and includes a deterministic seed so the same settings always produce the same text — handy when a template needs reproducible filler across saves.

Frequently asked questions

What does Lorem Ipsum mean?

It is scrambled Latin from Cicero's 'De finibus bonorum et malorum' (45 BC), altered over centuries of typesetting use. The words have no coherent meaning — which is the point: placeholder text should not distract from layout.

Why not just use real text as placeholder?

Real words tempt people into reading them and judging actual copy that will be replaced. Neutral filler keeps attention on structure, typography and spacing, which is what a mockup is testing.

Is Lorem Ipsum the same every time?
