How is a paragraph defined?
As a block of text separated from other blocks by one or more blank lines. If your text uses single line breaks instead of blank lines, every line counts as its own paragraph — most editors and web renderers treat them the same way.
What is a good paragraph length for the web?
For screen reading, paragraphs of 2–4 sentences or roughly 50–120 words scan well. Longer blocks work in long-form and academic writing, but breaking them up improves readability and keeps mobile readers engaged.
Does it count headings as paragraphs?
Headings set on their own line followed by a blank line are counted as paragraphs, since the tool has no way to distinguish them from short text. Treat heading counts accordingly when reviewing structure.
