Image Resizer

Resize images by width, height or percentage — keep the aspect ratio or not.

The Image Resizer scales any image to exact pixel dimensions or by percentage, right in your browser. Set a target width, a target height, or a scale factor, keep or drop the aspect ratio, and download the result instantly.

Resizing serves countless jobs: fitting photos to a 800px-wide blog layout, shrinking huge camera exports to email-friendly sizes, preparing images for social media dimensions, or scaling product shots consistently for a shop. High-quality smoothing keeps the result crisp when scaling down, which is the direction that matters most.

Processing uses the browser's canvas with high-quality image smoothing, runs completely offline on your device, and preserves your original untouched — you always download a new file.

Choose an image to resize. Everything runs in your browser — no upload.

How to use the Image Resizer

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Pick how to resize: by width, by height, or by percentage.
  3. Enter the target size — the aspect ratio locks automatically when you keep it on.
  4. Untick 'Keep aspect ratio' to set width and height independently.
  5. Download your resized image.

Frequently asked questions

Should I resize by width or percentage?

Width is best when you have a target layout size (like an 800px content column). Percentage is best for a quick 'make it half the size'. Either way the aspect ratio is preserved unless you turn the lock off.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Scaling down with high-quality smoothing produces a sharper result than the original at that size — information is merged rather than invented. Scaling up, however, cannot create detail that does not exist; enlarging more than ~1.5× will look soft.

What file format will I get?

The output keeps your original format where possible (PNG and WebP stay lossless or lossy as appropriate; JPEGs are re-encoded at high quality). Convert to a different format with the Image Compressor or the dedicated converter tools.
