Image Compressor
Compress JPG, PNG or WebP images in your browser — no upload, instant download.
The Image Compressor shrinks JPG, PNG and WebP images right in your browser. Choose a photo or graphic, set the quality, and the tool re-encodes it locally — showing the original and compressed sizes so you can see exactly what you save before downloading.
Large images slow every website, clog email attachments and burn mobile data. A 4 MB photo often drops to a few hundred KB at quality 70 with no visible difference on screens — the kind of saving that makes pages fast and attachments sendable. The quality slider gives you the dial: lower for smaller files, higher for print-quality originals.
Everything happens on your device with the browser's built-in encoder — nothing is uploaded, which makes it safe for personal photos and business documents alike. You can also convert to another format while compressing.
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image to compress. Processing happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

- Compare the sizes and download the compressed result.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I compress an image?
Photos typically drop 60–90% at quality 60–75 with little visible loss. Simple graphics and screenshots compress less because they have less redundant data — and PNGs with large flat areas are often better converted to WebP, which this tool can do.
What is the best quality setting?
For web use, 70–80% is the sweet spot: small files with imperceptible loss. For email attachments 60% is usually fine. Go above 90% only when you need near-original quality and size does not matter.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using built-in encoding — your photo never leaves your device. This is both faster and more private than cloud compressors.
