Unit Price Calculator
Compare package sizes fairly — find the best value per liter or kilogram.
The Unit Price Calculator reveals the real best value when shelf sizes differ: enter each product's quantity, total price and package size, and the tool computes the price per liter, kilogram or unit — the only number that compares fairly across pack sizes.
Retailers exploit the math on purpose: the bigger bottle is often NOT the better deal per liter, and '2 for $5' can be worse than the single price. The tool highlights the best-value row in green and lets you compare as many products as you like side by side.
Keep the size unit consistent within a comparison (all liters, all kilograms) and the winner is unambiguous. Everything runs locally in your browser — a genuine money-saver for groceries, drinks and household buys.

🏆 Best value: Cola 2L at $0.875 / unit
Unit price = total price ÷ (quantity × package size). Use the same size unit (liters, kg, sheets…) for all rows to compare fairly.

Frequently asked questions
How is unit price calculated?
Unit price = total price ÷ (quantity × package size). A 2 L bottle for $3.50 costs $1.75 per liter; a 1.5 L bottle for $2.20 costs $1.47 per liter — the smaller bottle is the better deal.
Why does bigger not always mean cheaper?
Pricing is set for psychology as much as economics: 'family size' and 'value packs' sometimes carry worse per-unit prices than the standard size. Comparing unit prices catches exactly these cases.
What if products are measured differently?
Convert to a common unit first — compare liters to liters, kilograms to kilograms, sheets to sheets. Comparing price per kg against price per liter is comparing apples to oranges.
