The Frequency Converter moves between hertz and its multiples — kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz and terahertz — plus the two 'per minute' units people meet in the real world: rpm for rotating machinery and BPM for music.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert MHz to GHz?

Divide by 1,000: 2,400 MHz = 2.4 GHz. Wi-Fi bands illustrate it perfectly — '2.4 GHz' and '5 GHz' are the same as 2,400 MHz and 5,000 MHz, which is how many channel lists label them.

How many Hz is 60 rpm?

One hertz is one cycle per second, so divide rpm by 60: 3,000 rpm = 50 Hz. This is the conversion behind AC power (50/60 Hz grids) and electric motor ratings.

Is BPM the same as rpm?

Structurally yes — both are events per minute. A song at 120 BPM has 120 beats per minute = 2 Hz. The converter treats them as the same unit class so musicians can check the math behind tempo.
